Can’t write files

    It seems I’m having files troubles. Updating WP yields:
    Could not copy file.: wordpress/wp-includes/css/editor-rtl.css
    Installation failed.

    When updating plugins I get Update failed: Could not create directory.
    Using Filezilla I’m unable to create a dummy directory: mkdir /clickandbuilds/PlymouthArea/DELETEME: received failure with description ‘Failure’

    I’ve made sure the file permissions are correct as mentioned in https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/installation-failed-could-not-create-directory/

    And, because of the file errors I can’t reinstall a backup.

    Any thoughts?
