Import Historical Data Not Working

    Hi there,

    I’ve recently updated a site to the latest and greatest version of WordPress (5.8) from version 5.3 and noticed that WooCommerce has had a major overhaul particularly with reporting.

    I tried using the Import Historical Data under Analytics->Settings but am getting this error :

    No route was found matching the URL and request method.

    I’m not too sure what this means or how to fix it though so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    New orders go in just fine and show up in the new reporting area but I just can’t get all the older orders to go in.

    Thanks for sharing the error message you are seeing.

    Could you please share a screenshot of the error message so we can see where it is being generated please?

    I recommend https://snipboard.io for sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply.

    It will also be great if you could share your current System Status Report. You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site.

    Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button. Then paste it here in a comment.

    In some cases we have seen similar error messages being related to the Jetpack plugin. If you have Jetpack installed, could you try deactivating it briefly, importing historical data in Analytics again, and see if that works.

    If so, please then reactivate Jetpack. It doesn’t explain the exact cause of the issue but if it works, it will at least make sure the data you are looking for is imported.

    Hi Abhi,

    Many thanks for the reply.

    This is on the Analytics->Settings page at the bottom where you can Import Historical Data.

    It says :

    Status: Ready To Import

    Pressing the Start button I get the Status: Initializing message appear and the spinning icon but then within about a second that message comes up at the bottom. Seen in this screenshot here :

    Hi,

    A little bit of detective work on this one today. Just wanted to make sure (as much as I can) that it wasn’t the server at play here so used UpdraftPlus to backup the entire site and then restored it to a subfolder on the domain and installed to a new database.

    As soon as the site was restored I went to Analytics->Settings and gave it a try. All worked fine!!

    So something either htaccess or I’m thinking more likely a plugin is causing this.

    Any ideas as to which though because as you can see I have a fair few plugins on the site and narrowing it down would really help if at all possible?

    I’m glad to hear you were able to make the import work. I’d recommend the following steps to test for a conflict: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    It’d also be worth checking your htaccess file and confirm everything is set up correctly there.
