• Hi,

I noticed a spike in “Other” share in Seriously Simple Podcasting stats.

Did something change? As far as I know, Google Podcasts and Spotify don’t count on this stats, right? If so, what count as “Other”?

    Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Our FAQ shows how where the plugin pulls listening anaytics and what counts as “Other”.

Seriously Simple Stats tracks the following listening sources for your podcast:

    - iTunes / iOS Podcasts
    - Overcast
    - Pocket Casts
    - Direct downloads
    - Audio player listens
    - ‘Play in new window’ clicks

Any other listening sources will appear grouped as ‘Other’ in your stats.

I hope that clarifies things a bit. Have a good day!

    Thanks, @amongthestones!

It does, partially. Spotify, for instance, doesn’t appear in “Other”. I say that because one of our two podcasts ir huge in Spotify (>8k listens/month), and yet overall listens in SSP’s stats are below that number.

So, for now, I know which sources SSP can track reliably, but I don’t know which it can’t, like Spotify. I understand this may be an issue beyond your scope, but I hope that we could, together, find this out.

    Thanks again!
