Post IDs jumped from 1900s to 6000s?

Hey, wondering what some reasons why the Post IDs would jump from thousands in the database? Was working on a localhost build and the Post IDs went neatly up to the 1900s and then noticed that the live version jumped recently 5000 numbers. Not totally a big deal aside from one tiny thing out of sync with my localhost build but am just wondering what might be going on here.
