critical error

  • Hello,
    I comming back home from vacation, users advise me that our site produces a critical error on the pages protected by membership.
    Can you tell me what the problem is? and how to solve it?

  • I had the same issue and had to roll back to WordPress 5.7.2 when the update to 5.8 broke this. I’m planning to move my clients away fro this plugin as it has been closed since 2019 – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/membership/

    Always a bummer to discover a big issue on a site!

    A site I am working on was using Membership 2 when the company WPMUDEV dumped it. I asked the developer of the theme I used for the site (who had provided Membership 2 with that theme) what other membership plugin they recommended. He suggested Indeed Ultimate Membership Pro by WP Indeed.

    It has been working okay with the site although the theme developer never generated the promised documentation (I wanted to know the best way to set up the plugin to work best the complicated theme I had purchased).

    Indeed Ultimate Membership Pro has not been updated yet for 5.8 apparently, but it does seem to be working on the site.

    Other than that plugin, I might suggest Paid Memberships Pro, which I have had good luck with on another site.

    I haven’t tried it myself yet, but others there have.
