    Hello,
    I used this plugin to create many footnotes.
    I had to deactivate all my plugins because the site suddenly would not load.
    Now that I want to activate this plugin, I get the following error. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'MCI_Footnotes_Layout_Engine' not found in /home/iranolog/farsihealthadvice.com/medical_articles_iranians_persians/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/class/dashboard/subpage-diagnostics.php:16 Stack trace: #0 /home/iranolog/farsihealthadvice.com/medical_articles_iranians_persians/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/includes.php(32): require_once() #1 /home/iranolog/farsihealthadvice.com/medical_articles_iranians_persians/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/includes.php(38): mci_footnotes_require_php_files('/home/iranolog/...') #2 /home/iranolog/farsihealthadvice.com/medical_articles_iranians_persians/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/footnotes.php(110): require_once('/home/iranolog/...') #3 /home/iranolog/farsihealthadvice.com/medical_articles_iranians_persians/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php(2286): include_once('/home/iranolog/...') #4 /home/iranolog/farsihealthadvice.com/medical_articles_iranians_persians/wp-admin/plugins.php(191): plugin_sandbox_scrape('footnotes/footn...') #5 {main} thrown in /home/iranolog/farsihealthadvice.com/medical_articles_iranians_persians/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/class/dashboard/subpage-diagnostics.php on line 16

    Hi @polaatx,

    Sorry to hear you are having issues with the Plugin. It looks like the Plugin may have upgraded incorrectly; please completely delete the footnotes/ directory in wp-content/plugins/ and re-install a fresh copy of the plugin.

    Hello, thanks for the quick reply. I was going to do that but thoughts I check here first. I won’t lose all my footnotes, because they refs are in the text correct?

    Correct, the footnotes refs will be untouched by the un- and re-installation of the Plugin.
