    Hello.

I purchased a domain from Namecheap.com with a .one extension. I then successfully redirected it to my free Awardspace.com service and installed WordPress. I installed Really Simple SSL, and followed the instructions on this WP Beginner article.
After changing the WordPress and Site addresses to https, the login screen does not reappear. Instead I received this message:

This site can’t be reachedgloballygrowing.one unexpectedly closed the connection.
    Try:

    Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
    Running Windows Network Diagnostics
    ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

Now, I cannot log back in.

How do I get back in to rectify this issue?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

How did you change the address? With a plugin or manually?

I installed the Really Simple SSL plugin first, but when I activated it, it didn’t activate properly, so I changed it manually in settings. I didn’t know at the time that Awardspace.com doesn’t support SSL certificates with their free version. Is that TMI?

Did u edit the .htaccess file or wp-config.php file?

Seems like it wasn’t configured properly.

Where did you get your certificates? May be ask your hosting provider if you can use LetsEncrypt

@ Kuldeep, I’m not sure how to edit those files. I can get to them, but I wouldn’t know what edits to make exactly.

@ a2hostingjr, Hmmmm…. that’s worth a try, however, their site clearly states that they don’t offer SSL certs on their free version.

Maybe it isn’t necessary that I have one though. This site is only to be used for a podcast landing page.

Then, my question becomes, how do I reset it? Will a full site reset be necessary? I wouldn’t mind doing that if necessary, but when I had to reset my bluehost site, the process was quite laborious because Bluehost must do some things on their end.

I deleted the SSL info on the .htaccess file, but I still cannot access the login screen. I can’t find the wp-config.php file

OK, Guys, thanks for all your help. I managed to zap it and start over, which is want I wanted anyway.
