Removing Background from Subsequent Pages

I just downloaded eDegree and having problems customizing the theme. The gallery function is currently broken, so I jury-rigged the home page to display my logo in the right position by loading it as the background.

As you can see on the secondary pages, the background then shows up obscured by the post body: https://www.echomaryland.com/?page_id=21

Any idea how I can remove the background from non-home pages? I tried putting a conditional in the header.php, but to no avail.
