I have a WordPress site hosted in AWS elastic bean stack and database created in RDS and was working fine till last week, but from past few days RDS connections are exceeding 50+ and i am unable to access the website. I tried disabling the plugins but the issue is still persisting.
Any help with troubleshooting this issue would save me !

  • Hi @getsyash

Could you be under a DDoS attack, so you are getting a lot of WordPress queries and these queries have its correspondent database queries? Have you checked that you have not any malware on the web, so it could be opening a lot of database connections?

    Have a nice day

Hi @amieiro , Thanks for quick response. I checked the website for malware and found none, to be on safer side i also replaced themes, plugins and wordpress core with default ones. Still we are facing the same issue.

You should try using a WAF (Web Application Firewall) or see if the plugin is making Ajax calls back to the site. Do you use auto-scaling?
