Points Value
-
Im currently building a website for a client. I need to know 2 things:
– How can I set Win is 5 points, Draw 3 points, 1 point for a loss if you score more than half your opposition score
– I imported a csv file and it didn’t populate the fixtures so it looks like I will have to manually add them
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Also is there anyway I can change the word referee to Umpire?
Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out.
Please, open a topic for each of your issues, otherwise it can get really confusing.
Regarding the first one, you can change the points formula under SportsPress > Configure.
You’ll probably need 2 different event outcomes for your loss, one for loss w/ more than half of the opposition score (1 point) and one for loss (0 points).
Thanks!
RE: – How can I set Win is 5 points, Draw 3 points, 1 point for a loss if you score more than half your opposition score
Hi sorry im a bit confused on how to put the formula in and how they work. Could you help in anyway or point me to a help guide with an example
Any luck on this even if you could give me each fomula or is that too cheeky
Hi Luke!
Thanks for your reply.
Sure, let me expand on that idea.
So instead of just win/draw/loss, you’ll have win/draw/loss1/loss or any names that you want).
Then in your events, the win/draw can still be automatic outcomes (most goals, equal goals, for example), so you don’t need to worry about them. But you’ll need to manually select which loss is the correct one for the event when you are adding it.
Then in the points formula, you’ll have this:
POINTS = Win * 5 + DRAW * 3 + LOSS1
Please try this setup and let me know how it works for you.
Thanks!Sorry im being really thick but where and how do I ut this formula in. Im so sorry to be pestering you
The win for 5 points works but the draw only gave 1 of the teams (i think away team) 3 points and not both.
Also how does the loss1 calculate (loss if you score more than half your opposition score)

Hi Luke,
Thanks for your reply.
No worries at all, we are here to help you. But please make sure you check our replies in full, as some things have already been replied to.
If you don’t understand it, that’s fine, I’d be glad to explain it as many times as needed. But please let us know what exactly you’ve tried so we’ll know what is or isn’t working.
Now as for the formula, it is used under SportsPress > Configure.
First you need to add a new event outcome for the new loss type. Then you’ll need to edit the current loss so it isn’t automatic:
https://prnt.sc/1rf4xomThen look for the table columns section. That’s where you create your columns and edit them.
https://prnt.sc/1rf4z6kYou can use our drag and drop interface to build your formula.
“Also how does the loss1 calculate (loss if you score more than half your opposition score)”
Please refer to:
“Then in your events, the win/draw can still be automatic outcomes (most goals, equal goals, for example), so you don’t need to worry about them. But you’ll need to manually select which loss is the correct one for the event when you are adding it.”So you’ll need to manually select which is the correct loss type for your event. There’s no way to set them automatically in your events for this specific rule.
“The win for 5 points works but the draw only gave 1 of the teams (i think away team) 3 points and not both.”
Please send us a screenshot of your current points formula. It’s likely that there’s an error in the math or formatting. Thanks!
Hi Roch thanks mate and I do apologise, Ive attached screen shot of current formula.
https://prnt.sc/1rfgoqiHi Luke!
No worries at all.
I made these remarks just so our communication is easier to understand. So if at any moment anything in my replies isn’t clear, feel free to quote it, I’m glad to re-explain, show screenshots and find other ways to help you.
As for your points formula, that’s very interesting. Your formula seems to be correct. You just need to add now “+ Loss1” for that new component.
So now that the formula is correct, let’s look at your events/competition.
Can you send us a link to your league table again? If possible, please create a column for draws, so we can confirm if the formula matches the events that are loaded.
I’ve tried to find an example in your original link but I couldn’t, and I’ve tried to find other league tables in your menu, but all of them are empty. So maybe your test league table is in another page.
Thanks!
Hi here you go the loss1 works but the draw doesnt seem to work which is very weird:
But then ive done the a draw and a win plus loss1 in div 1 and it worked. It seems to work now and again which is so frustrating – https://portsmouthnetball.co.uk/table/div-1/
Is it a bug in the system
Hi Luke,
How are you doing? It’s always good to see you.
That’s really odd.
We usually don’t do this, but can you send us a message to the presales channel?
support.themeboy.com/Just select that you don’t have a license key.
I can give you some help beyond what we can do here.
In case you want to check some things by yourself, I’d verify if these teams are all assigned to the correct competitions, if you don’t have any duplicate variables (for example more than one variable for loss1) and finally set all events to drafts then publish them one by one to see if I find which one is causing this.
Thanks!
Hi
Ive worked out in the prem1 the only teams that arent working are the below. Shooting Stars and gems seem to work. Thanks again for your help

Hi Luke!
Thanks for your reply.
Did you check my previous message?
Please send us a message there, at this point I’m not sure what else could be wrong just by looking at the frontend.
Thanks.
