SSL works on plain html site but not localhost/wordpress

Hi:
I have successfully installed and enabled lets encrypt on my plain html site,
izmirlian.net hosted at godaddy. I had 1 year of free SSL provided by godaddy.
I have a no-cpanel plain command line interface and built everything from the ground up, LAMP + wordpress. The free SSL from godaddy I got installed just fine and then installed the reallysimplessl plugin in wordpress and all was well on both the izmirlian.net pages
and izmirlian.net/wordpress site. As my free SSL has run out, I installed letsencrypt, and it works on izmirlian.net, but I’ve tried reallysimplessl as well as wp-force-ssl, as well as tweaking some settings in wp-force-ssl but to no avail.
