• My wp site often refuses to load entirely on my phone chrome browser – just the loading page appears and the half circle spinning and spinning. Same issue is found on my windows based desktop using chrome.

    Yet will load fine, if a little slow, always on chrome on my macbook.

    It pretty much works on Edge, on all platforms, not chrome on any windows based or android. And is fairly slow even on Edge.

    Can someone please help me with this?
    Is it a theme issue?
    A plug in issue?

  • This may happen if your WordPress is not properly optimised. May be your images are not properly optimised for web, or your theme is loading too much un used scripts and CSS or something else.

    Try goggle Speed insight and check for improvement suggestion.it will show you why your site is too slow.

    You can test using the Health Check plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
    Install the plugin, and use the Troubleshooting mode which will disable all plugins and activate a stock WordPress theme (e.g. Twenty Twenty One) for you only as a logged in user. Does that make a difference to the loading speed when using those browsers?

    I moved to the pinbin theme and it works then on a mobile browser whereas the others Minimal Dark and Minimal Grid only work on the macbook, strangely.

    So perhaps a theme issue.

    So was going to just stick with Pinbin, but no support found to widen the text body on a laptop view, but looks okay on a mobile view.

    How tricky just to find a theme which has posts and a logo and works fast!

    There was no option for troubleshooting in the healthcheck plugin, I installed and only have options to clear transients and some other options. none of which include troubleshooting!

    @jaykpatel Lost of issues found and will try make sense of them tomorrow! thanks for the tip.

    @pidengmor Seems a theme issue???

    After you install the Health Check plugin you can use the link in the plugin menu to enter troubleshooting mode: https://snipboard.io/nVzh5v.jpg
