Looking at my site and the WordFence report I see that I have a lengthy list of cron jobs from as far back as 5/06/2021 that haven’t run. What do I need to do?
    Thanks.

Hello @kwbc2020 and thanks for reaching out to us!

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

This should show me a list of which crons are failing to run and what you might be able to do to fix them.

    Thanks again!

You’re correct! I see 61 Overdue Crons not running. Usually I see something like this when a server is having connection issues but I did some tests and I don’t see any connection issues.

Let’s try to repair the Wordfence crons. I recommend downloading and installing WP Crontrol(https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-crontrol/).

You can delete any wordfence related cron jobs that currently aren’t working, then deactivate Wordfence and enable it again to repopulate the cron jobs.

Here is a list of the Wordfence cron jobs you will want to observe:

    • wordfence_ls_ntp_cron
    • wordfence_hourly_cron
    • wordfence_daily_cron
    • wordfence_start_scheduled_scan
    • wordfence_email_activity_report

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks again!

I found and deleted the cron you suggested. I deactivated and re-activated Wordfence. How long should I wait to see if this is effective? Do I need to have someone log in?

I would wait a day to see if all the normal crons run for the day. You will be able to see if they are overdue on the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostic page under Crons.

Let me know how it goes!

    Thanks again!

I found that the DISABLE_WP_CRON is marked as TRUE. Should I mark it as FALSE?

    I invoked this:
    powershell “Invoke-WebRequest https://YOUR_SITE_URL/wp-cron.php”

using my correct URL. I now see that all cron jobs seem to have been completed? Im hoping that I won’t need to continue that process.

That would have been the issue! Wonder how it got disabled? I have seen the host do this in the past if a cron is trying to connect to something and not reaching the server.

Glad you could find the solution!
