• Hi there,

First, i should explain I am a total newb when it comes to WordPress. I’m ok with HTML, CSS, JScript and PShop, but haven’t really spent any time with PHP (but I’m working on that one!).

What I am trying to do is integrate a blog into my own site. I’m looking to keep my own header/Footer and Navbar.

The site so far : Mysite

If you click on Blog, the page shows how i want it, with Header etc styled as the rest of the site. I’ve linked up the first cat (Web Design and Development) so you can see what happens. I’m just confused how i hook the comments page in with it all, using this method.

I have been following this tut here explaining to grab the html from WordPress and place it into my local site TutSite

So in summary: I have created a blog and added a theme in WordPress. Then grabbed the code and placed it into a new .html file inside dreamweaver and reattached the style sheet. I have done this for each category and have begun to do the same for the other links. So at first it looks how i want it, but now I’ve come to the comments section, I’m really not sure how this can work!

Am i a million miles away from getting this all to work correctly, or am i just a bit of tinkering away from having this finished?

I don’t mind starting again as it’s all a learning process, but have spent some time with it and would be good to get it working.

Maybe i have missed something simple and just need to sit in a darkened room rocking back and fourth for an hour or two, come back and everything will be ok ??

Sorry for the long first post and thanks for any feedback.

    Thanks

    Rob

So esmi’s link shows a different way of tackling this. But before i start from scratch, is the tutorial i followed above correct? And is it still possible to work esmi’s link with what i have done so far?

I’am happy with how it works, up until someone clicks the ‘Submit Comment’ button when replying to an article.

Right now, if someone go’s to ‘Web Design and Development’ category , then clicks on ‘no comments’ to post a comment, fills their details and submits, the next page moves away from my local site to the WordPress one.

How can i rectify this? It’s a little frustrating as otherwise it all looks and works exactly how i would like. It’s just the issue of submitting a reply.

Can i work the above methods into what i have done already, or is this a start again scenario?

Thanks for reading another novel ??

Any thoughts on how i can get the submit button to work on the comments page?

If you go to the site here, then Blog, click the first cat ‘web design and development’, make a reply, fill in details. It moves away from the local site when submit is hit.

Is the Tut i followed designed with a comments section in mind?

    Thank you for any help.
