• I’d like to be able to post a thumbnail of an image which, when clicked, opens a full-size version of that image in a new window. I know this is possible as I’ve seen it on other blogs. But I haven’t been able to figure out how to do it in WordPress 2.9. Also, if there’s a plugin that simplifies the process I’d be interested in that too.

Thanks for your reply. What I’m looking for is more simple. I just want to be able to insert a thumbnail in a post that opens the full-size image in a new window. I don’t think I want the Shadowbox format that “overlays” the image on top of the existing page.

    Is there anything like that?

Okay, I’ve read the entire Codex section on images. It seems like the built-in WP image editor should be able to do what I want to do.

However, when I try to upload images using the “Upload” function on the new post page, it’s not working. After I select the image and click “Upload”, the dialog box pops up asking me to enter the name, choose the size, etc. But the image doesn’t display in the box. Instead, there’s a little blue question mark indicating the image wasn’t uploaded. I tried with three different images and got the same result.

    Here’s a screenshot.

    Any ideas?
