Hi Just wondering if GiveWP can configure a tax deductible donation that is tax deductible upon checkout like how WooCommerce with its product? Because we plan to use it in creating Event for Fundraising in our Website considering it can support multiple stripe accounts.

    Hey @isgjojo,

    Glad you reached out.

Can you give us more details about what exactly you are trying to do with GiveWP?

Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!

One of our websites, is for event ticketing which like a fundraiser event. And they want to setup some of the events as tax deductible and not. We were planning to use WooCommerce at first but it can’t accept two Stripe payments without compromising some functions. So, we were thinking of using GiveWP. But before we do that, we’re checking if you can setup tax deductible donations.

In Woocommerce there’s a setup where your product is Taxable and not. Can GiveWP also do that?

    Hi @isgjojo,

This is sort of a gray area.

I’m not an accountant but from a technical point of view, GiveWP does not have an option to add a tax to a donation.
The amount that users donate is final.

GiveWP provides receipts via email and it can also generate PDF receipts using a paid add-on. It is up to your accountant to determine if those receipts can be used for tax deductions or not.

It depends on the local tax laws and regulations and we don’t get into that.

In the United States, an organization has to be a registered 501(c)3 charity for donations to be tax-deductible.
