I recently opened an account at Dot5 Hosting, but I can’t seem to get WordPress to see the MySQL database I created (via vDeck and myphpadmin). Last night, via online chat, one of the techs told me that Dot5 does support WordPress. I broke down and called this morning for some more help and the tech told me that it isn’t going to work because their servers won’t allow remote access to the MySQL database. Does WP require remote access?

Has anyone else out there gotten WP up and running at Dot5?

  • Did you check the Podz Guides?

And specially the one rlated to vDeck installation?

    https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/vdeck/

    Maybe it will help you

If the host has your website, and the host has the database, then there should be no problems..

I am running numerous wordpress sites off of dot5hosting.com

Make sure that your database and username has your dot5 username infront of it. (Usually the first 8 letters of your domain.)

    Domain: https://www.mydomain.com
    database name: wordpress

    becomes: mydomain_wordpress

If you provide your domain name, and database name, I can help you out a bit more.
    Hope that helps.
