trouble with custom header

Is this the header that you’re trying to replace?

If you delete the file and then upload a new file titled header-1.jpg to the same location, that should “replace” the image.

I did that and it hasn’t worked. I’m so confused!

Is there any other method I could use to upload the new header?

That doesn’t make sense. If you replace a file, the file should be . . . well . . . replaced. Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache?

How would I go about doing that? Sorry as you can tell I’m not very technical!

In IE its : tools > internet options >delete browsing history , temporary files etc… ??

Probably similar in other browsers

If that doesn’t work, then you aren’t replacing the header image.

1. Title your new header image as header-1.jpg

2. Login to your server with Cyberduck.

3. Navigate to /wp-content/themes/kirby/images/

4. Delete the header-1.jpg file that is there.

5. Upload your new copy of header-1.jpg to the same location.

If you visit the image directly, you should be seeing what you uploaded.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing, I’ve deleted the original header completely and replaced it with the new name, named header-1.jpg. Even the original header is no longer in my images folder it’s still loading up on the site!

When you visit the image directly in your browser, it doesn’t change, even if you’ve deleted the previous image and uploaded a completely different image with the same name?

Okay, very strange. Try this.

1. Login to your server with Cyberduck.

2. Navigate to /wp-content/themes/kirby/images/

3. Delete the header-1.jpg file that is there.

4. Visit the image directly.

You should see a 404 – file not found error, especially since the image no longer exists. If you don’t, clear your browser’s cache and try again.
