It looks like Yoast caps the file size for custom open graph images to 2mb. If I select a custom open graph image larger than 2mb, it uses the default, site-wide open graph image.

Facebook open graph documentation says their limit is 8mb. Is there a way to increase the limit imposed by Yoast?

    Thanks

  • Hey @mateustav,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand that you are experiencing our default 2MB limit on file sizes. There is no direct setting to upper this limit, but you can programmatically upper this limit with the wpseo_image_image_weight_limit filter.

Do know that file sizes bigger than 2MB are really big, and will take a lot of loading time on mobile connections, we recommend not to use too high dimensions and file sizes for this. You can also compress images with services like tinyjpg.com.
