SVG icons to improve performance

    Hi @hardeepasrani, thank you for the latest version of Otter, it is really great to see the new added Blocks, so that we can have soon in Otter a “One Stop Shop” for all our needs –> page building, post content creation and the incoming Full Site Editing without the need of additional gutenberg plugins.

    I want to kindly suggest you and your team, to please add the option to use SVG icons, instead of the current Font Awesome and themeisle icons that are loaded in the front-end:

    1- otter-blocks/assets/fontawesome/webfonts/fa-brands-400.woff2
    2- otter-blocks/assets/fontawesome/css/v4-shims.min.css?ver=1.7.0
    3- otter-blocks/assets/fontawesome/css/all.min.css?ver=1.7.0

    Would be great if we can “Copy & Paste” the SVG html code from any svg icon we want to use, just like it is done in the “Otter” competitor, GenerateBlocks.

    This way the Otter users will have unlimited icons choice and the performance will be greatly improved.

    Taking into account for example, that Neve is one of the Fastest Themes and its Gutenberg companion plugin is Otter, it would be great to have this improvement in Otter, so that Neve performance is not affected by these font icons currently loaded by “Otter” in the front-end.

    Hey Miguel,

    I always wanted to add the SVG icons but it gets really hard to maintain them but your suggestion of allowing users to copy/paste their own SVG code might just do the trick.

    Thank you for the suggestion, we will add it in an upcoming release of the Otter.
