    Hello guys,

    I’m having an issue with this website where whatever I’m doing the google analytics cookies are always loading before the consent of the users.

    To be more precise I’m talking about _gid; and _ga; cookies.

    I’m running the exact same plugins with the exact same settings on multiple sites and only on this site the GDPR test is not working properly.
    To be more precise I’m getting this error on all the pages of the site:

    “Cookies installed during the loading of pages are not strictly necessary. For EU users these cookies can be installed after obtaining prior consent (Rec. 30 and Rec. 32 of the GDPR)”

    The website used to be on Cloudflare and I downgraded it to the server DNS in order to fix this issue but still, the problem persists.

    Can you please help me find the solution?

    Thank You

    Hi @53pt1m1u,

    Kindly make sure that you have added the script of the mentioned cookies via our plugin cookie categories itself. If you go to the Cookie Category page and click edit on any category, you will find fields to insert scripts through which you can add them.

    in the analytics category under the Head scripts, I have added the codes from analytics and google ads, as I did in all the sites I made and work…

    eg>> newevoconcept.ro has the same plugin and settings, and the cookies start only after consent. Working fine…

    Are there any other scripts that I’m not aware of?

    If I delete the cookies and deactivate the plugin and erase the codes from analytics/ads (clear all cache), I have no GDPR plugin activated, but the website is still getting the exact same test…

    Everything is green except this:
    Cookies installed during the loading of pages are not strictly necessary. For EU users these cookies can be installed after obtaining prior consent (Rec. 30 and Rec. 32 of the GDPR)”

    Hi @53pt1m1u,

    Upon checking the site we can see that there is a script loading the gtag before consent and this is not configured via our plugin. Refer the screenshot of your site’s page source here.

    Please identify the script and remove it or move it to our plugin.

    So I need to delete the line from the red area you selected.
    I made some changes to the Google Analytics cookies and added a Google tag manager I forgot to add. I hope the line is the same. I found this:

    <script id=”google_gtagjs” src=”https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-188745311-1&#8243; async=”async” type=”text/javascript”></script>
    <script id=”google_gtagjs-inline” type=”text/javascript”>
    window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}gtag(‘js’, new Date());gtag(‘config’, ‘UA-188745311-1’, {} );
    </script>

    Can you please share with me what is the best way to delete this line of code or how to integrate it into your GDPR plugin? I tried to find the same reference source from the view-source in the appearance => theme editor but there is no such line there… Do I need to edit it from an FTP source? or can I add some sort of custom CSS code that will disable the line code from the custom CSS theme space?
    I would kindly appreciate your guidance to solve this cookie issue. Thank You

    Ok, so I got some updates on the problem.
    Google Analytics is loaded from your cookie law info plugin?
    If I deactivate the plugin and delete it I still get the Cookie (Google Analytics): _gid; _ga; loading before the consent test error. Where do dose cookies come from?
    (I deleted the cache too)

    I have the same problem with the Google Tag Manager plugin installed the GA cookies are not blocked. So what ended up being the solution?

    Hi @nicholisd, @53pt1m1u.

    Please make sure that there is no other plugin in the site that tracks analytics and also make sure that the GA or Gtag script is not added via the theme.

    @webtoffee @nicholisd I SOLVED THE PROBLEM…
    There was two tracking codes in the Google Tag Manager => Admin that I forgot to add in the GDPR plugin, and I also followed this tutorial to disable some analytics settings.
    Now the GDPR2 test is 100 clean.

    Tutorial link to Google analytics GDPR settings.
