Menu for my site that opens a gallery

    Hello,
    I have been searching for days to find a solution to my problem but I am too new to WordPress and webdesign to know what I am looking for. I would like to have a menu that when clicked opens a gallery in an area or div, and when another menu button is clicked it opens another gallery in that same area or div. I see websites with it every where but cannot for the life of me find a plugin or tutorial or anything that would show me how to do it, I thought it could be tabs or modal or dynamic content but i just dont know, maybe its ajax? I just need help to know what is it that I am looking for, what is it called any ideas on plugins that do this or anything. I have asked for help on this forum in other areas and have received none. If you cant help can you please point me to a place where there is help for beginners please.
    i am literally at my wits end and feeling very disappointed with my inability to find help.

    Found some advice on another post. I don’t know why my posts keep getting moved to fixing WordPress as I am not trying to fix WordPress. Perhaps this forum needs a general questions area.
