    Hi,

We’ve recently migrated our website to a new hosting provider. Since then, our Cookiebot plugin is posing many problems.

About 24h after its installation, it starts showing this error message on the top of our WP admin:

Could not initialize Cookiebot addons: Class cookiebot_addons\controller\addons\custom_facebook_feed_old\Custom_Facebook_Feed_Old not found

Trying to deactivate Cookiebot directly from the WP UI is impossible, we get the same error message, along with:

There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

When this error is active, lots of functionalities are broken in WP, for example our media library isn’t loading anymore. The only way to delete Cookiebot is to remove its folder from the FTP.

Could you provide some help with this error please?

    Best.

    Hello @svandewalle,

It seems that you are missing a class.

Did you try to reinstall the plugin?

Are you able to go to the debug page of the Cookiebot plugin? If so, can you please share the debug information with us.

    Take care,

    Aytac

    Hi @aytac,

    Thanks for your message.

Trying to reinstall the plugin or accessing the debug page gives me the following error:

There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

In the FTP when the issue is showing up, the folder cookiebot_addons\controller\addons\custom_facebook_feed_old\Custom_Facebook_Feed_Old is indeed not found.

I can only uninstall the plugin by removing its folder through FTP. Around 24h after reinstalling the plugin, the issue is reproducing again so I guess something is wrong after the scanning.
Is there any procedure to fully uninstall the plugin, through PHPmyAdmin maybe?

    Thanks,
    Steven

What’s wrong with CookieBot support? I opened tickets on the official support and this WP thread and I still have the issue since more than two weeks, without any relevant answer.
I’m switching to another provider if no proper support is given in the coming days.

    Hello @svandewalle

I’m sorry for the late response.

Can you please delete the row of option_name “cookiebot_available_addons” in the options database table? This will clear the active addons. After that, you can activate the plugin again.

    Take care,

    Aytac

    Hi Aytac,

Same issue after deleting the row on Friday. 24h after deleting it and reinstalling the add-in, the same message appears, along with the issues.
For example we can’t access any media in the media library when the issue is there.

    Any other idea?

    Thanks,
    Steven

    Hi @svandewalle,

Do you have some backup feature running?
FYI, The problem should arise immediately after an activation and not after 24 hours.

Can you please check on wp_options table, if the option_value contains “Custom_Facebook_Feed_Old” or “custom_facebook_feed_old”? If so, can you please share that record with us?

    Take care,

    Aytac
