George thanks, I think you are on the right track, and I think Mailchimp is correct.
Not sure I follow you.
Have you checked your site’s RSS feed and the <dc:creator>
tag is empty? This is what would make Mailchimp correct ??
That field where is says John Appleseed:
Do I need to put my name in there in each and every post, or just one time for all future post?
That field is in the RSS feed automatically generated by WordPress. That’s why I asked you to check your own site’s RSS feed… or give me your site address so I can check it for you. But you never specifically commented on either one!
When you make a new post, that post is automatically assigned to the WordPress user who logged in to make that post as the author. This user’s name then appears on the public website as the author of the post, and in the RSS feed’s <dc:creator>
field automatically.
So this you don’ need to manually add your name anywhere… your name should be added automatically — unless you’ve taken special steps to disable this, a plugin/theme conflict is somehow removing this.
Again…
1) have you checked your site’s RSS field to confirm the <dc:creator>
field is empty, as Mailchimp is claiming? Can you share a screenshot showing this, as I did?
2) If you don’t know how to do this, can you share your site’s address so I can check it for you?
