WooCommerce Shipping, WooCommerce Tax, WooCommerce Shipping & Tax: same?
-
Hi:
I am setting up a WooCommerce store for a small bike shop – owners are moving towards retirement and want to sell off the bike parts they’ve accumulated over the years and old inventory, etc. They anticipate making most sales within their state. They don’t intend to sell new inventory online. We’re trying to nail down which extensions to use re: shipping and sales tax. When I go to woocommerce.com, under extensions, I see “WooCommerce Shipping”, and separately, “WooCommerce Tax”. When I’m logged into the wordpress site and search for new plugins I see a plugin called “WooCommerce Shipping & Tax”. If I search from within wordpress I DON’T see either “WooCommerce Tax” or “WooCommerce Shipping”.
My question is: are they the same? WooCommerce plugin lists Automattic as the developer; WooCommerce Shipping & Tax lists WooCommerce as the developer.
If I want to use the WooCommerce extensions (the separate Shipping plugin and tax plugin) do I need to get them from WooCommerce.com/extensions (download then upload to the website?) versus the normal process of getting them via “add new plugin” from within the wordpress admin? Or have they been combined into WooCommerce Shipping & Tax by WooCommerce?
Thank you!
