I’m looking for suggestions as to what other users have found successful when implementing 2FA for Woocommerce. I want to keep it easy for my customers and would prefer a SMS based OTP (as well as using Authy or Authenticator)

I don’t mind a small investment or a bit of coding.

Do you have any good suggestions?

  • Hi @iamhere

You may find the WooCommerce Two Factor Authentication plugin helpful.

The plugin gives your customers access to their account after they have entered their OTP in addition to their regular password. Webmasters have the option to customize templates and messages.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello Margaret

Thanks for the suggestion. However that is Email Only.

I need SMS via mobile authentication.

    Hi @iamhere,

Check out this link for steps for 2 factor authentication with many plugins that can work with phones being required (mobile).

    Hope this helps!

Thanks @nixiack8 I did see that post and many of those plugins are either dead or unsuitable, but appreciate your efforts.

I’m really just looking for an SMS based solution to prevent account sharing, i’m not running a bank, just protecting content.

Ideally, user logs in and is then asked to confirm login via SMS.

But it seems this does not exist. The hunt continues!

    Hi @iamhere

May be instead of verification through SMS you can give verification through email a try, as wider range of options is available for this type.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.

Thank you, but the thread is not really resolved!

I’m still looking for a suitable solution. I’m surprised there is not a native solution, however, I will continue looking at 3rd parties.

    Hi @iamhere

Sorry to see this still isn’t resolved for you, we’ve made a couple suggestions but I know they don’t match the exact use case you’re looking for.

As a final suggestion, you could try something like
