    Hi,
we migrated our WordPress site to a different domain and a different hosting provider. Unfortunately, we had a few issues while migrating so it was a little bit chaotic.

Wordfence was fully configured before migrating and was working without any issues. However, we had our .htaccess regenerated, and we are now unable to configure again the Wordfence firewall. The “take a moment to Optimize the Wordfence…” notification is still appearing. When I try to configure the firewall through the setup, I end up on the screen “The changes have not yet taken effect…”. And no changes are made to the .htaccess file.

I would be happy to configure the .htaccess manually, I just wanted to make sure we didn’t f something up during the migration process and Wordfence is working properly.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi @martinlatal

Your hosting provider has disabled the use of a .user.ini server configuration file.

Can you ask them if they can enable the use of a .user.ini server configuration file.

If they say no, can you ask them if you can create and use a php.ini server configuration file in the directory where WordPress is installed.

Let me know what they say please.
