    Hello!
I have a question, and I don’t want to start a political debate.

A client of mine is a network of NGOs in Europe. They want to display the member orgnisations on a map and Interactive Geo Maps comes in very handy for the purpose.

One issue: they have members in Cyprus and Northern Cyprus. Northern Cyprus is not listet in the regions, as it is only recognised by Turkey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Cyprus

But still the member organisations see themselfes as located in Northern Cyprus, not Cyprus. And would possibly be offended to find themselfes listed in the region of Cyprus.

How is your policy for adding regions?

    thank you for your answer.

    Hi @angiepunkt
Thank you for using the plugin!

The maps library keeps growing to become more inclusive, there’s already maps for similar scenarios with versions of the world map for India, Morocco, Russia and China, among others. But it takes time to add new maps and that process is not controlled by me, as the plugin uses an external maps library. So I can’t say when a map with Northern Cyprus if/when would be included.

That being said, at the moment you could workaround that in the Pro version, using the same approach used in this example: https://interactivegeomaps.com/subdividing-usa-states-to-create-custom-regions/

Basically you would create a map only for Northern Cyprus and overlay it on your Europe map. If you have specific questions about the Pro version, use the form here: https://interactivegeomaps.com/contact/

Another approach could be to use markers, to plot the locations of the NGOs, rather than colouring the full countries.

Hope it helps and sorry for the current limitations.
    Greetings, Carlos
