Before I deactivate this free plugin, how can I move previously stored external featured images on https://i.ytimg.com/ back to my server and updating the image url links in my posts?

    Thank you… I will try

But that is a PRO option. Are you saying in order to move the images back to my server and deactivate your plug in I have to order your PRO version otherwise my posts will be without images? What is this logic?

    Hi, @dounsa .

in order to move the images back to my server

I think you didn’t understand how the plugin works. Please read FIFU Settings > Help > Getting started. You will understand that the plugin was made to work with external images, so they were NEVER in your media library before. FIFU DOESN’T touch in the images from your media library.

Sure, I understand that… If I knew that I will have to order the PRO version to move the images to my media library in the future, I wouldn’t have installed the FREE plug in and use it in the first place.

Automatic plugin grabs the featured image for the post and places it in the media library directly for the post.

Now, I assume if I deactivate you plugin, I will lose all featured images for the posts. You make retrieving these images back a PRO version….

The option to save in the media library is relatively new. It didn’t make sense for many years, because there a lot of ways to import images to the media library, without FIFU PRO, using import plugins. But 1 year ago Instagram started to invalidate the image URLs and we’ve decided to implement our own feature. But in summary, it’s not mandatory to use that.

Automatic plugin grabs the featured image for the post and places it in the media library directly for the post.

Exactly. They’ve added an integration with FIFU, because many users didn’t want the images in the media library.

Now, I assume if I deactivate you plugin, I will lose all featured images for the posts.

Correct, because external featured images are not a native WordPress feature.

The reason I want to deactivate the plugin is that I lost the image gallery feature in my product page. I use Flatsome theme. How can I get the gallery feature back without deactivating your plugin?

    Hi, @dounsa.

How can I get the gallery feature back without deactivating your plugin?

You just need to access a product that has an internal featured image or create a new product.

The gallery is only disabled when you have an external featured image. It’s done to avoid mixing internal and external images. Because FIFU and WooCommerce would try to handle the images at the same time for the same product and you would have problems.

By the way, @dounsa, we’ve tried to contact WP Automatic support a few times, to build a good integration between the plugins, but the developer never answered us. The existent integration was made 100% in WP Automatic side and without our knowledge. You’re not the first one having problems with that.

    Hi, @dounsa.

The reason I want to deactivate the plugin is that I lost the image gallery feature in my product page.

Other users have reported this issue. Then even though we don’t recommend to mix external product image and local images from product gallery, we’ve decided to continue displaying the product gallery metabox, at least in free version of the plugin, where the gallery for external images is not available.

Yesterday we’ve introduced FIFU Cloud service. With enough subscriptions, we would be able to make all the pro features free, including the external product gallery and “Save in the media library”. Let’s see what happens.
