Shortcode tag suddenly showing up along with content…

  • I’ve created many shortcodes for use on my site, but it had been a few months since creating my last one. As I was working on one today, I noticed the shortcode title was showing up in the post. I was thinking it was because it wasn’t complete, but I checked past shortcodes, and they’re all showing up.

    Linked is one of the instances where. ]players[ is the shortcode.

    Nothing on my end has actively changed other than general WordPress updates. Is it possible there was a change in WordPress that caused an issue with my theme, which I haven’t updated in awhile?

    It’s late where I’m posting this from. I plan on digging into that option more in the morning.

    Quick update: I changed the theme to the standard WP 2021 theme. The shortcode title is still showing up.

    Never mind…it was a stray line of code. Not sure why it’s showing the title of the shortcode, but it’s only a throw away line to check if a variable is being passed.
