• So I’m using WordPress 2.9.2 and I ran into a few problems last week I believe it was. I am unable to: add tags to a post, change the date and time published, change the post visibility, change the post status, modify or add widgets, use the drop down arrows in the dashboard navigation, or move items around on the dashboard home screen.

So far I have: tried different browsers, used different computers, cleared my cache, disabled all plugins, reinstalled wordpress, and searched for a very long time in google and the forums, so far nothing has worked. I have found a few work arounds, like publishing it then doing a quick edit, and I could only change the widgets page to accessibility mode to make that work but really its getting a bit inconvenient.

Attached is a picture of what happens to the url when you click on any of the objects when adding or modifying a post.

    Thanks for your help.

I don’t know what happened but the little dropdown arrows just came back and work, BUT the post settings for date/time, visibility, tags, etc still don’t work.

    I have the same problem.
The Dropdowns on the menu don’t work. i don’t see the Text i write in the posts. i can’t add a video or a photo.

    any idea why?

I don’t know what happened but my drop down arrows work again, but I think the rest of your problem is a bit different. I can add text and videos to my post its just the post settings, tags, and publishing settings that don’t work right. It used to work about a month or 2 ago but then it stopped working, I’m hoping version 3.0 fixes this when it comes out in the next week or month or so.

For your problem I would try deactivating plugins one by one and see if one in particular is causing the problem. I would also try reinstalling wordpress by going to Tools > Upgrade > and click reinstall automatically. Past that I don’t really know what your issue could be.
