• For months now the back-end of my website has been grinding to a halt. It got so bad my partner stopped using it and I figured this had something to do with shared hosting or perhaps another plugin that was causing the issue. I never suspected AIO would be the cause due to the high rankings it receives.

In trying to troubleshoot I came across an article on speeding up your website and the author listed problematic plugins. AIO was one of them. He also recommended a plugin called Query Monitor, which assesses WP plugins for their performance and it flagged up AIO as a culprit. On a whim, I disabled the plugin and voila! My website is back to its old self!

Really I should have identified this issue sooner but I just never thought it would be an established plugin like this one. If you find your website performance is suffering, trying disabling AIO and see if it makes a difference.

@demonboy I’m sorry to hear you experienced slowness on your site with All in One SEO active. We’d very much like the opportunity to work with you and determine what was happening when All in One SEO was active.

If you’re willing to work with us to troubleshoot this then please let me know here or you can contact me here.

I can assure you that AIOSEO shouldn’t cause problems and that of our 3 million active users, there are exceptionally few reports of any performance issues with our plugin. However, when someone does report a problem we absolutely want to investigate.

Hi @wpsmort, thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate your concern and am surprised myself but I’m not sure how I can help as I’m not really a developer, just a blogger who is trying to keep my website up and running. I’ve lost a lot of traffic from my subscribers because it seems this was affecting the front-end too and I don’t want to inconvenience them further by reinstalling the plugin and running tests.

If it helps, this is the article I referred to in my review. You might get more useful feedback and testing from the author.

Sorry I can’t be of more help. I hope you manage to resolve the CPU issue.
