    Hello,
First I’d like to say thank you for the plugin, it works really well. I use just about all of the features without an issue.

I did just try to enable “Minify”. When I do this, my entire site stops functioning. I have to manually delete the plugin from the plugins directory to regain site functionality.

If I reinstall the plugin, minify is still enabled so my site immediately gets broken again. Is there a way to manually disable the minify option via the command line?

    Regards,
    James

  • Hi there. I’m having somewhat of a similar issue. My minify is on, and on my home page i get this code.

Notice: Undefined variable: file in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-optimize/minify/class-wp-optimize-minify-functions.php on line 1112

I have the latest version. I downloaded from here. I also do not have any other caching plugins or mechanisms and I’m running the site using Elementor. Everything else is working just fine, but for some reason I cannot get this error off my front end of the website.

@tiltjg28 @jamesharding Could you please try to uncheck the option “Enable merging of JS files” and “Enable merging of CSS files” from WP-Optimize > Minify > JS and CSS and check if it helps to fix the issue.

I cannot change settings from the GUI because when I enabled Minify it broke my entire site. Nothing works unless I manually delete the plugin. What file are the settings saved in so I can change them manually? Please read my original post.

@jamesharding There is no option to disable minify from command line you can only disable it from WordPress admin, Are you not able to access WordPress admin?

I cannot access WordPress admin, when I enabled minify, it broke my entire website. Nothing works. I cannot access any page on my website.

@jamesharding I think there’s conflict issue either with one of the plugins or theme installed.

Could you please try deactivate all the plugins and switch your theme to default twenty twentyone and then try to enable Minify option.

Then enable each plugin one by one until you see you are unable to accesss WordPress admin, so we know if its conflict with any plugin.

Also try the same with your theme, so we know if its conflict with your theme.

I restored my site from a backup and reinstalled this plugin but just left the minify option disabled. This seems to work. I recommend you build functionality to enable the user to manually disable options from the command line. If I didn’t have my own backup of my website this plugin would have left me stranded with a broken site.
