    Hello IberiCode,

absolutely happy with the plugin, thanks for providing and maintaining the free version.

I did an automated EU cookie compliance check on my test website and according to the check‘s result I would require user consent for the cookie set by boxzilla. I would use boxzilla for positioning Text Links/Icons on website areas that would otherwise require a theme customization. Can the cookie be turned off via a hook or equivalent measure? Boxzilla would be the only plugin that would require the implementation of an extended cookie consent management solution on the website and for the given use scenario that would a bit over the top from my perspective.

    Kind regards, Oliver

    Hi,

Are you sure that this functional non tracking non identifying cookie would need consent under the EU cookie law? I (not a lawyer!) believe such a functional cookie that is not in any way used or usable to track an individual is allowed even without the cookie consent popup!

Anyway, the cookie is used to keep the popup closed after it’s been shown or dismissed, of you set those two settings to 0, no cookie will be set. It’s the 2 fields for Cookie expiration – Triggered / Dismissed in the Boxzilla’s box settings.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!

    Hello Lap,

Thanks for checking in. I did a couple of other automated x-checks (other consent management solution providers). All these checks were negative (no consent relevant cookies found). I’ve come to the conclusion, that the initial check (that triggered my post) was a false positive.

Already had set the two settings to 0 (that’s why I was initially concerned)

    Topic resolved. Thanks again.

    Oliver
