Comments off everywhere – still getting comments

  • Hi. Comments have been off in Discussion as well as in individual posts. Yet, there is a list of spam comments made recently and sitting for moderation. Anyone see this before? Thanx.

    Did you try turning off comments in the Settings->Discussion section?

    Note that this only turns off comments for new posts.

    For older posts, you will have to individually turn off comments for them on the edit post screen.

    Hi. Thank you. Yes, as I said in the original post, comments are already off in Discussion settings. Comments were also already off on the individual Posts that had comments waiting in moderation. The theme doesn’t even allow for commenting.

    Also make sure to disallow pingbacks & trackbacks on the edit post screen.

    Thanx. Yes, I did that for safe measure. I don’t think pingbacks & trackbacks have anything to do with comments showing up inside Comments when everything is turned off though?
