I am trying to migrate a website to my own computer’s server for development. The download of the backup was 1 gig, and I have disabled Antivirus in case it was interfering with the migration restoration. It has now been going on for over an hour and is only at 66% and seems to be choking on a postmeta table:

Now Safari quit during restoration. Upon reload, I tried to restart the migration upload and it says, please wait till the current restoration is complete, but I don’t see any active window with the info about the restoration.

FYI: the backup finally loaded and finished, but I see a lof of these php error messages in different parts of the site when I try to upload or choose images in the media library, add pages, etc.
I am wondering if any of these might be issues for migration.
1. The developer
is using a plugin that downgrades WordPress to earlier versions of WP (5.4.2). I am not sure why he would use that, but it may be due to compatibility with the server he chose for you. It is called Siteground,

2. Siteground uses a plugin called an optimizer, but This plugin is designed to link WordPress with the SiteGround Performance services (hosting). It WILL NOT WORK on another hosting provider.

I realize the theme won’t work on my home computer but am concerned about the php errors. I don’t want to upload a problem in a migrated site. I am wondering if either plugin or the downgrade is causing the issue and how to resolve it. BTW, I searched in all the files for the deprecated function, but could not find it in any WP backend file.

Let me answer to all your posts:

You should be able to solve that issue with SQL-Splitting option enabled.

This error is actually not related to our plugin, seems that someone modified your functions.php file. In any case it also could be PHP version error, if you’re running older version of WP with PHP 7.4+ it may cause such issues.

1. The developer

Our plugin works with downgrading and upgrading, technically it will replace WP version if WP installation was included in the backup.

2. Siteground uses a plugin called an optimizer

We already had such case, we confirmed this plugin has no effect on the sites, but it should be removed after migration to different host, manually.

please wait till the current restoration is complete

In such case proper way to stop the restoration is:
1. Refresh window where you’re restoring the backup
2. Force stop both processes: https://prnt.sc/1trv1tm
3. Now your process is stopped

You can try to make new backup using these settings:

2. Save first section
3. Now, go to “Other options” section
4. Change backup method: https://prnt.sc/1s1ofpa

6. Modify query output: https://prnt.sc/1trxucl (set this value to 300)
7. Save “Other options” section

Then once you make new backup, follow this settings on your site where you want to restore previously made backup:
1. Go to “Other options” section

3. Enable splitting: https://prnt.sc/1sljjju
4. Modify query output (set this value to 300 as well): https://prnt.sc/1trxucl
5. Save “Other options” section

7. Try again with new backup
