• Hello dear users,

I met this problem after I download and apply a new theme.

    It shows
Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_post_meta() in D:\wwwroot\ftpzhaihp\wwwroot\wp-content\themes\astra\inc\metabox\class-astra-meta-boxes.php on line 646

And I cannot open any page of my website, even in the dashboard.
    Could someone help?
    Thank you so much!

  • Hi @tonggallery ,

You may follow these instructions to solve this issue:

Step 1: Log in to your cPanel File Manager or Connect to your site with FTP.
Step 2: Go to public_html -> wp-content -> themes. You have two choices here: either rename your theme folder ex:astra-disable or simply delete it.
Step 3: If you don’t have a backup theme in your public_html -> wp-content -> themes folder already, manually download Twenty Twenty or any other theme and place its files into the themes folder.

    Thanks

    @tonggallery: Just to clarify…

What @devutpol is really saying is you should delete or rename the Astra theme’s folder, named astra and located inside the wp-content/themes/ folder. This should deactivate the theme and (hopefully) allow you to login.

You’re on a Windows server running IIS, and you don’t have the cPanel software mentioned. Also, your website’s root folder is not the public_html folder mentioned.

As to why the theme is breaking your website, I’ll advise you post in the Astra theme’s own sub-forum so the theme’s developer and support community can help you out.

    See: https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/astra/

    Good luck!

    Hi @gappiah and @devutpol,

Thank you both for the responses!
I was trying to connect FTP and fix it but I don’t know our account.
The one who was responsible for the website has left the company a long time ago and can’t be reached.
Do you know where I can get our FTP account by any chance?
    Thank you!

    Hi @tonggallery

    You can follow these steps:

    1. Log into your cPanel
    2. Select “FTP Accounts” under the Files area of the cPanel home screen. (This settings option location depends on your hosting, if you don’t find this setting, contact your hosting provider they can help you.)
    2. Select “Change Password” in the Actions column beside the FTP account that needs a password reset.
    3. Type in your new password and click the “Change Password” button.
