Hello. I am a longtime WordPress user, website designer and webmaster. I run my own web server software on a computer in my home. Thus, I have a self-installed version of WordPress.

I just downloaded, installed, and then attempted to activate the lite version of your FS Poster plugin. After clicking on the “Activate” link on WP’s plugins page, I am taken to a new screen which says “Please activate the plugin.” with “FS Code” in red letters. The form asks for my email address and my password.

However, the form gives absolutely no indication of what email address and password it is referring to. Is it my WP Admin email address and password? Is it asking me to provide an email address and to create a new password for your fs-code.com website? Who knows.

Well, assuming that it was asking me to create a new account for your fs-code.com website, I entered my email address, as well as a lengthy password consisting of upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Upon clicking on the red “Register & Activate” button, I get a small error message on the top of the WP page which simply says “400 error!”. I have no idea what that is, and hovering over it does not reveal any additional information.

So, next I went to your fs-code.com website, thinking that maybe I needed to create an account on your website first. So, I provided my name, email address and a password. I received no on-screen message or email notification stating that the account had been created.

At any rate, having done that, I went back to the “Please activate the plugin.” screen in WordPress and clicked on the red “Register & Activate” button again. Once again I got the same error 400 message.

So I am not sure what is going on, or how to proceed. I am very interested in the commercial version of your plugin. However, before I will even consider purchasing it, I need to get the free, lite version working properly first, so I can see if it even meets my needs.

Your assistance would be kindly appreciated. I also suggest that you update your online documentation so that a new user knows exactly what information to put in the email and password fields on that activation screen. Thank you.

    Hi there!

We are sorry for the inconvenience and we always aim to deliver a great experience. We will use your feedback to make the plugin better and to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

I am not sure why you confused it but Registering always means adding an email address and setting a new password. We do not think there should be an explanation.

For the issue, could you email at [email protected] please and provide the error screenshot? We’ll work with you to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

    Best Regards,
    FS Poster.

Excuse me, but I know what registering means. But you still haven’t answered my questions. What exactly are the email address and password being used to register for? Your website, or what? In other words, is the email address and password being used to establish an account on your fs-code.com website or what?

Well, this is strange. I just tried to activate the plugin again, and this time it appears to have worked. As I said, earlier, it kept showing me error 400, whatever that is. Why it suddenly activated is beyond me.

However, whenever I tried to add accounts, the new accounts were not being saved. They temporarily appeared with the green check mark, and the zero changes to a 1 under the “Groups” column, but then all of the settings disappeared. After trying several times, I finally was able to add a few accounts.

However, even though I was finally able to successfully add a few accounts, my posts are NOT being autoposted to those accounts.

Your plugin appears to be very buggy. Was it thoroughly tested for Macintosh computers running macOS Monterey 12.0.1?

The email and password are required for using the lite version. You are creating an account in our license server for your domain to use the lite version.

    1. Have you activated your accounts? https://i.imgur.com/MimLwKs.png and do you see your accounts on the FS Poster section when you create a new post: https://prntscr.com/tzecr2

    2. Do you publish your posts manually or a crawler plugin publishes posts for you or other users on your website publish posts?

    3. Please go to the FS Poster logs tab. If you get any errors, hover over the error button. So, it will show us the error reason, and provide some screenshots.

    Best Regards,
    FS Poster.`

Thank you for the explanation. To avoid confusion in the future, I think it would be a good idea if you added some text to the activation screen which explains that. It could say something like this:

“Create a NEW password to register the plugin with our license server. This password should NOT be your WP Admin password, or your computer’s Admin password.”

    1. YES, I created and activated TWO accounts; one for Facebook, and one for Tumblr. And, YES,I see both accounts in the FS Poster section near the top right corner of my new post page. I always make new posts using the web interface, using the Firefox web browser for macOS.

    2. I publish all posts manually, and I am the only one who has access to my machine, to my web server, and to my WP account. No one else publishes posts on my WP blog.

    3. There are NO errors displayed on the FS Poster log tab.

BTW, the 400 error I was getting earlier when I tried to activate the plugin was coming from YOUR license server. A 400 error is called a request error. I suspect that maybe your license server was being overloaded with too many http requests. However, when I tried a number of hours later, it worked fine, and the plugin was activated.

Thanks for your suggestion. We will consider it.

Could you record a video using any screen recorder like https://www.screencast.com/ when you publish a post and send us the video link so that we can investigate the issue easily?

After a few minutes, please refresh the page and record the FS Poster section in the post after you publish the post: https://prntscr.com/ueoiwy

We are checking the 400 error.

    Best regards,

I have now created accounts for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr. I will contact you by email after I have recorded the new post screen.

I have now sent you the link for a video which I uploaded to my Google Drive account. It may take a bit to process before you can actually view it.

I have also sent you a private email message which shows the results of autoposting to four social networks — Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr — using your FS Poster plugin. All four posts have problems, as I explain in my email message to you.

The issue was that Social Networks could not fetch the post image from the post and the cause screenshot provided by email.
