• Just some feedback here.

First of all, I completely agree with the person who said that AddThis, while being a superior service, suffers from an inferior plugin.

Not only does the plugin offers almost no customization options, but some of those that are offered simply don’t work (Button style). Why even add an option if it doesn’t work?

Next, the foremost feature that I expected to see in the plugin options was button preview. ShareThis plugin has this, and it enabled me to see what the button will look like without saving options and reloading my site a dozen times.

And last, but not least, why isn’t it possible for the AddTiis plugin to add the button at the end of my posts without editing the template? Other plugins manage just fine with hooks alone…

  • Greps,

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry I didn’t see your message sooner. What version of the plugin are you using? And what options are specifically failing?

Button preview is a great idea, which we’ll add in the next version.

The default behavior is to add the button at the end of a post. Template tags are just for advanced users. What led you to believe that was your only option?

    Best,
    Matt

I’m having similar issues…the toolbar option doesn’t work correctly.

    – Whenever I change the button style, nothing happens.
    – When I add custom Dropdown/Toolbox Services, the services appear with all plus signs instead of their corresponding icons.

Please let me know if you need more info to help troubleshoot.

    Thanks,
    Greg

My problem is that the button style won’t work/correspond to the menu type.

If I select dropdown, and any button, it defaults to one particular button which has the dropdown feature. But if I select a different button, let’s say, the plus button with the dropdown feature, it still shows the other button.

The plus button will only work if I have it on “static”. Is there any way for me to get it to work with the dropdown style?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Just wanted to chime in and agree with daydreamjohnny; the exact same thing is happening to me! No matter what I select from the little dropdown, unless I choose the static menu style, nothing changes. Please let me know what I can do to prevent this.

Any update on this issue? I’d like to have a dropdown menu for my OMDS blog I’m starting up, but I don’t want to utilize a static menu, as it won’t flow with the look of the blog. I’ve tried to get the dropdown functioning but to no avail…

I also did not like this plugin. It is not configurable, it is very inconvenient administration.Used it on your site, then turned off.
