I use Safari as my main browser. I was able to load the page on mobile Safari too.

Mobile version will load in an iframe and can take a little longer as the mobile browser can’t open the object directly and it is interpolated via Google.

Is there anything more specific or an error that is present?

Youre saying going to https://www.riponcathedral.org.uk/services-music-27th-december-2nd-january/ works for you on safari?

I’ve tried on multiple machines and different people in different locations and the page doesnt load the pdf preview iframe or anything underneath it?? It gets stuck in some sort of infinite loop and never stops loading.

Can you show me a screenshot of it working on your machine?

Interesting! Thanks I can send that to the client and other devs that it does work. Glad it’s working!

Can you see anything in the console as to why it may not be working for myself other devs or the client? The page never loads so cannot get into to inspect element.

What version of safari are you using? were on 14.1.2

I’m on the current version of everything, macOS, iOS, and Safari.

There is no javascript so unlikely to have anything in the console, besides, I won’t have anything in my console cause it works. You might be having an issue with the size of the files, but that’s just a guess.

I’m not sure I have anything more.

Ok so it seems that its visual composer stopping it from working when that is on a page in safari 14.1.2

I’m not sure what you mean by “its visual composer stopped working”.

its using the brooklyn theme (https://unitedthemes.com/) and when deactivating the

Shortcodes by United Themes – Brooklyn Shortcodes for Visual Composer

plugin it seems to work but that theme needs that plugin to work.

    I assume its using https://visualcomposer.com/

The fact that its working for you and none of us is what i cant get my head around.

Hopefully you can work backwards from the conflict and determine what is actually happening.

You might try another method of embedding PDFs. I think Gutenberg comes with a block to do that.

aye. cheers mate for your help!

    Hi mate back again!

Ive found out it seems to work if I disabled cross-origin restrictions in safari.

Is this helpful in maybe finding a fix for us?

    this is where its hanging

Interesting. I only default to using the Google API for display in mobile not in desktop. Also not sure where the analytics stuff comes from.

I don’t have anything setup differently than Safari usually has, so not specific cross site setting on my end.

You sure this setting isn’t effecting some other plugin causing it not to error?

Aren’t the PDFs stored in your media library? Nothing cross origin there.

    Thread Starter dawsony

    (@dawsony)

Yeh thats what i cant understand the PDFs are in the media library. There is the UT-shortcodes plugin when disabled it seems to work but I’ve fixed the error in that so i think that was just a red herring and not the actual issue.

I cant get my head around this at all of why its happening and its only where the pdfs are and only on safari.

If this is from the mobile display it would only run in an iframe. Do you have something disallowing iframe?
