Don’t buy it

  • Tried firstly the free version and wasn’t bad, then, thinking the pro version would offer much more options and customizations, backgroud color, container dimension and so on, but no, very poor and, actually, works better the free version than the paid one.
    Good support but avoid to purchase the Pro, doesn’t worth the money!

    Sorry to hear you’ve had such a negative experience…

    The pro version adds some extra features (which bring technical challenges) because it support things like custom fields, ajax searching, DB optimized queries + cache and more.

    However I realise you’ve had pain points with the plugin, and we’re already (2+ years in the making) working on addressing the UI to make it easier and more intuitive to use.

    Not only that, we’re also adding the features you mentioned, so you’ll be able to change color schemes of your fields using a visual editor we’re building (+ more design options such as spacing, border, padding and fonts will follow later in the year).

    Thanks for your feedback, I do hope you’ll give us another go in the future.

    Follow-up question on this topic from a potential/pre-purchase user:

    Is the default styling (colors, dimensions, padding etc) of the various fields and inputs easy to override using CSS? Does all the markup that is output have unique classes, etc?

    In other words, is the customer above’s complaint simply that the plug-in doesn’t have WYSIWYG controls or a customized styling panel for the styling of the search form/inputs, or is it for any reason actively difficult for a developer who knows CSS to style the elements?

    Hey @wesdavisdev – sorry didn’t see this – not patroling the forums here too often.

    Regarding your question, yeah, all our fields have unique classes so can be targetted individually for any custom css – this is the default way to use the pro plugin at the moment (with the actual design / WYSIWYG controls coming in version 3, for those that don’t want to / can’t code).
