Is WP the right choice for my client?

Can I insert Flash (swf) files in WordPress? I have no experience with WP yet and my client wants me to add a series of Flash navigation buttons on the left of her website and a header banner with a Flash element. If so, will WP 3 handle this better than current versions? Trying to decide if I can use WP for this client.
