    Hi @winbruck

We aren’t exactly familiar with TranslatePress and how it handles its translations, but if you have translated one of your pages from German into English, are you able to edit the English version of the page from the backend and try and access the Yoast SEO meta box?

We checked on this example page https://www.praxis-bruckmeier.de/en/kontakt/ and we are seeing a meta description tag in the page source, so it is outputting a meta description tag.

Hi, thanks for the reply. That is actually the question. I have access to the backend via a login and a FTP connection. However, I cannot seem to correlate the file structure with that of the URLs that are reported by the Bing webmaster tools. Which file and where do I find the file to make the meta description entry? When I login to the server using the FTP tool access, I see the following (Verzeichnis= Directory in German):

    /.

    	cgi-bin	Verzeichnis w0108d74	w0108d74	0755	28.02.2020 11:15

    	neu	Verzeichnis w0108d74	w0108d74	0755	07.01.2022 18:32
    	usage	Verzeichnis w0108d74	w0108d74	0755	11.01.2022 02:32

    	index.htm	HTML Dokument	2 KB	w0108d74	w0108d74	0644	28.02.2020 11:15
    	infophp.php	PHP Script	19 byte	w0108d74	w0108d74	0755	28.02.2020 11:15

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hey Winfried,

    Thank you for your reply.

We understand you are looking at the files on the server through (s)FTP, but that’s not the way to edit these changes.

I had a quick look into the TranslatePress documentation, and the way TranslatePress does it things is through the customizer. The same goes for the Yoast data. They mention you need their SEO add-on and then you can translate your meta data from the native language to the languages you add through TranslatePress, more can be found here:

Hi Jeroen, thanks for your reply. Yes, I am aware of this SEO Add-on- and it is pretty pricey for me. Hence, my question as to where I could edit this in the backend. Thanks again.

    Cheers, Winfried

Thanks for following up with us. Yoast SEO outputs the SEO data on the fly at the front end of the website. This means there’s no physical file that you could go to edit manually.
