    Hello,

I have just installed the Complianz plugin and I have a problem with cookie banner setting.
Anytime I try to open it I get too many redirects error. Other plugin settings is ok. Same error happend couple of times during the initial guide. The script blocking feature works but the banner is not visible and its setting is not accessible. Is there any known solution for this or way how to investigate/fix?

Console shows error aborted 404 during GET ../wp-content/uploads/complianz/css/banner–optin.css?v=0

There is no such file in the folder, there is banner-new-optin.css from some reason.

Edit: cookie banner starts to show when the css file is renamed to banner–optin.css but the banner settings still inaccessible due to too many redirects error

    I have tried:
    – disable all other plugins
    – use safari/chrome on mac os in privacy mode
    – disable and enable plugin
    – reinstall plugin
    – reset plugin
    – change theme

    Recently I did:
    – update of WP core to 5.8.3
    – php change to 7.3

Did you try saving the banner settings again?

The css file should also contain the banner id: you can see the id in the url when you edit the banner settings.

    Hi @hanessh4,

Could you have a look at this; https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-error-too-many-redirects-issue-in-wordpress/

    Specifically #2 & #3.

The initial guide will be on the Cookie Banner settings page as well, so makes sense.

Let me know if the article helped, or it is still an issue,
    regards Aert

It sounds as if no database entry is created for the banner.

Re-saving the settings should normally fix this.

Do you maybe have a 404 redirect to homepage rule/plugin? In combination with a 404 on the css this could cause a redirect.

    Hello all,

I will try to answer all questions at once:

    – I have tried to go through the https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-error-too-many-redirects-issue-in-wordpress/
even #2 & #3 with no success – I dont have any issues with too many redirect except banner settings page…

    – I am not sure how to save the banner settings when I cannot access the banner settings at all??

    – I dont have any plugin for 404 error installed, as I said – I fixed the 404 for banner by renaming the css file – no 404 error now, and the banner is visible, but the banner setting is still not possible to open due to redirect error

Thanks for quick response, great support of great plugin!

Do you navigate to the banner settings from the complianz menu, or from the wizard last step?

Can you also try adding to your domain:

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=cmplz-cookiebanner&id=1

To see if you can access it directly?

I can not access the banner settings from anywhere (menu, last wizard step, direct link, …)

    Can you install the
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-debugging/
plugin, then get the debug log (from top menu) after visiting the banner settings page?

Possibly that will give us a hint what the issue is.

It looks like your hosting environment has blocked the “create table” permission.

Please contact your host and ask them to allow table creation on your website environment. Otherwise the plugin cannot create the cookie banner table.

I can confirm that the problem source was in the database – I created the new table manually and its working now.

    Thanks for the support.
