    I have Email Before Download, Download Monitor, and Contact installed. All were running correctly, Email Before Download was working as expected – I had users filling in their data, downloading the content (a zipped file of PDFs) via a link that would appear after the contact form and receiving it as an email attachment and the site manager receiving an email too.

    Some time over the holiday period the page crashed. I deactivated plugins until I found the culprit – it was Email before Download. Once I deactivated it, the page appeared fine again just showing the shortcodes for the contact form and the download in plain text.

    I’m using WordPress version 5.8.3.
    When I activate the ‘Email before Download plug-in’ the following appears (don’t know if it’s helpful):

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function getAttribute() on null in /home/clients/0aee7ac7fc8ad72a3a23bcc4ca043604/web-noa-project.eu/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/includes/class-email-before-download-form.php:39 Stack trace: #0 /home/clients/0aee7ac7fc8ad72a3a23bcc4ca043604/web-noa-project.eu/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/includes/class-email-before-download-shortcode.php(68): Email_Before_Download_Form->html() #1 /home/clients/0aee7ac7fc8ad72a3a23bcc4ca043604/web-noa-project.eu/wp-includes/shortcodes.php(356): Email_Before_Download_Shortcode->init_shortcode(Array, '', 'email-download') #2 [internal function]: do_shortcode_tag(Array) #3 /home/clients/0aee7ac7fc8ad72a3a23bcc4ca043604/web-noa-project.eu/wp-includes/shortcodes.php(228): preg_replace_callback('/\\[(\\[?)(email\\...', 'do_shortcode_ta...', '<p>This Nationa...') #4 /home/clients/0aee7ac7fc8ad72a3a23bcc4ca043604/web-noa-project.eu/wp-content/plugins/easy-accordion-free/public/views/templates/default-accordion.php(37): do_short in /home/clients/0aee7ac7fc8ad72a3a23bcc4ca043604/web-noa-project.eu/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/includes/class-email-before-download-form.php on line 39

    Thanks for any help – this plug-in was great when it worked.

    Hi @jabrenna,

    To help us with our investigation could you please provide us with the following:
    1. Shortcode and a URL showing the WordPress Download Monitor working successfully
    2. Shortcode and a URL showing the Contact Form 7 working successfully
    3. Shortcode and a URL showing the Email Before Download failing

    Page crashing usually occurs when the contact form ID in use is corrupted. To confirm this for us, when providing the Contact Form 7 working successfully, please use the same contact ID that was giving you the error, along with the URL to the page.

    Hi there, thanks for your quick response:
    the very exercise of compiling this information – I got as far as no. 3 – helped me to realise the the problem lay with in the ‘Easy Accordion’ menu plugin within which I had pasted my shortcodes. I reactivated the plugin and pasted the shortcodes into a new page and all worked. THANKS!
