I’m using Mail Optin to connect with Constant Contact and allow website users to subscribe to mailing lists using an Elementor Pro form.

The integration works fine for a couple of weeks then users start to complain that the form is failing. The Elementor form throws an error and the form doesn’t appear to be submitted.

    The error log shows:

“Signed API request has returned an error. HTTP error 504. Raw Provider API response: 504 Gateway Time-out”

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Hello @jasmaunder ????,

Please try re-authorizing the integration in MailOptin>>Integrations>>Constant contact.

Let me know if that works.

Also, if you don’t have any custom fields and are using the v3 integration of Constant Contact, try switching to the legacy version.

    Best regards

    Hey Ibrahim,

Thank you for the fast response!

I started by using the legacy version which is where I first saw this error, so I moved to the V3 thinking this may solve the problem. I have re-authorised twice already, using V3, and this is the third time the error has happened.

The problem is we don’t know there is an issue with the form until someone complains that the form is failing.

Are you familiar with this error? Does it give a clue as to what might be going wrong?

    Thanks

Update: I raised a ticket with mailoptin.io which was responded to quickly.

This issue appears to be stemming from Constant Contact, however this error causes a permanent bug with the integration between mailoptin and Elementor forms. The Elementor form shows an error apparently not submitting (as far as the user is concerned) but the email is subscribed to CC.

The temporary fix is to “reauthorise” the integration from the mailoptin plugin. Unfortunately the problem has since occurred again and was only noticed after a handful of users had an issue.

I am told that the developers are in touch with Constant Contact to find a long term solution. Watch this space.
