There are numerous problems using the iPad to create or edit posts in the web app. Can’t even edit in view mode. The scroll boxes such as categories do not scroll. Perhaps these are Safari problems but they translate into wP problems – i.e. You can’t blog from the iPad with the browser. The iPad app is ok but not full function. Does’t appear to have wysiwyg. With 2 million iPads out there seems WP should be easy to use on them.

  • I’m able to do most of what I want to do on my new iPad (just arrived today). However, I often need to copy/paste text into the body of the new post pane, and I can’t seem to make it work. If I copy text from a web page in Safari, when I go into the text body area of a new post and press so that the Paste command appears, the copied text ends up in the title field, not the body. Even if I’ve first entered text into the title and have moved to the body and tapped, the pasted text does not go into the body.

    Any tricks I’m missing?

I should add that I was using my dashboard via the iPad Safari browser, not the iPad app. Will try the app too.

I swear I read an article this morning about how that was being addressed in the upcoming app-fix, but … damned if I can find it.

I hope you’re right! I tried it via Safari and the app, and neither worked for me. I’m typing on the screen keyboard now, and it’s not half bad!

The Safari browser is both a problem on my iMac and iPad. When I click on the box to enter the administration mode, everything on the right-hand edge of the blog disappears. Categories, blogroll, recent comments – all wigets vanish.

I tried the highly recommended Atomic browser for the iPad and the same thing happened.

FYI, WordPress is working on a new WordPress for iPad app.

Safari seems to be working since last week’s update of the iOS.

The problem with creating and editing posts on your iPad persists. The most annoying of which is scroll does not function in the post text box. If I want to edit a post i cut and paste it from WP into Pages then copy and paste the edited post back into the WP post text box. If there’s a fix on the way, it cannot come soon enough for me.

shortj – You need to use the iPad APP for WordPress.

Safari on iOS is … yeah, it doesn’t scroll ANY text boxes. Which is a separate level of fail.

Thanks for the info. I am using the ipad app now.

You could also read the users guide for your iPad so you know how to use it.

One finger scrolling will scroll the whole page.

Two finger scrolling will scroll text boxes and the like.
