Can’t log in

  • Hello everyone.

    I can’t log into wordpress and when I go to change my password it doesn’t recognise any of my email accounts. I am really confused. In short:

    – I checked through all my email address’s for any mention of wordpress. One got an email today saying my site got updated to 5.9, but the email address isn’t recognised on the www.ads-software.com site when I go to resend my password.

    – I originally had a wordpress.com site. I’m sure I changed it over to a .org one at some point. When I log into the .com site, it shows an old version and is pointing at an old domain, and has none of the plug ins I’ve been using recently.

    – I was with siteground and could log into my site fine through their admin panel.

    – I’ve recently changed to hawkhost and it’s a bit more confusing, I’m not sure how to access anything. They don’t have the admin panel, so I’m unsure if it’s something I should get in touch with them about or… who exactly? There’s no wordpress contact page or anything is there?

  • I would check in PHPMyAdmin what your user details are. You can check with HawkHost how to get into PHPMyAdmin (I’m unfamiliar with their hosting environment).

    Also, if you do a web-search for “How to reset your WordPress admin password using phpMyAdmin”, you’ll find articles explaining how to get back into your site that way.

    I hope this points you in the right direction…

    Thank you Dave. I’ll give it a try and see how I go. This has helped, I didn’t know where to start, but I’ll try by getting in touch with hawkhost.
