• I cannot change the excerpt length of the blog archive. I used the Elementor Airi elements blog widget — which looks very nice — but I cannot change the length of the excerpt. I tried changing the Airi theme’s customizer option under blog > index&archive but it has no effect. Any suggestions?

  • Hi @xuzi,

Your current blog page at https://jennakamp.com/blog is a regular page — not an archive for blog posts.

To enable archive for blog posts page, go to Settings > Reading; on Your homepage displays option, select a page for static page and other page for posts page.

The excerpt length option in Airi should work with posts listed under archive page.

    Hope this reply helps.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried that usual approach first, but then the following happens:

    • Airi blog widget that I use in the Elementor page build doesn’t appear to work style-wise, or else the widget is not being used
    • Excerpt disappears completely
    • Once the Settings > Reading is specified, I cannot edit that page in Elementor and therefore cannot select style options for the widget
    • I lose all the footer sections

The settings should be able to be set in the theme customizer. But it’s not working. I’m confused.

This is still not resolved. If there are more suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

Nevermind. I dug down into the php. Found the offending file. Changed the get_the_content length manually. smh. Here was the file, if anyone else cares: (inc/compatibility/elementor/skins/class-airi-athemes-blog-skin.php)
