Single Campaign shortcode not working properly

tried support but they keep kicking this into the long grass... so hopefully there's will be solutions here. In essence:Right from the start, I used shortcodes of individual campaigns and inserted them on specific pages.
As in:
Page X
With campaign X1
The problem that has happened several times is that when I create a new campaign – X2 – this tends to ‘expel’ the X1 campaign from Page X, and the result is that :
Page X
Now shows Campaign X2
when the shorcode is still pointing towards X1 as in [wpcf_single_campaign campaign_id=”783″]
But it’s showing the more recently created campaign with ID: 26362 (instead of 783)
I had to fix this several times before and had to check individual pages where i used the shortcodes for an individual campaign.
How can this be avoided? Is it cache? It shows on mobile too.`
A similar issue has been reported here, but there’s no public discussion as to how to fix it.
